Stamp Markers Review

I forgot that I bought these stamp markers a while ago! I rediscovered them and thought I'd give them a go and she the process with you. In my collection of craft stamps, I have more acrylic ones and only a couple of rubber stamps just because rubber stamps seem to always be way more expensive. Anyway, this is what they look like and I was drawn to them because they are pretty pastel colours!

I didn't really know what I was doing but I assumed you just colour over the stamp to ink it up and then stamp as usual. This is what I got...

Not really the wonderful stamp effect I was hoping for!! Especially because the ink pad I usually use is a Stazon and it's amazing! I assumed I was doing something wrong and decided to Google and YouTube to see what other people were doing. I found a YouTube video where the lady inked it up and then breathed on the stamp. So I tried that and got a much better result! It's not a clear cut stamp attemt, but it's cute and has a watercolour sort of effect which you can't really go wrong with.

Out of curiosity I decided to ink up one of my rubber stamps to see if there would be a difference.

The first attempt came out very faint but I feel the ink held more to the rubber stamps. This was proven in my next try, on some alphabet stamps I have. For these I used to medium tip on the pen instead of the brush tip.

These are much better results! I didn't push down at the bottom properly, but the top letters are looking nice and crisp.

Filofax Pretties: Spooky Monthly

Is it cliche to make my October month Halloween themed? If it is, I don't care! It's not even over the top!

Typo Haul Again!

I think it's going to be a habit that any time someone comes back from South Africa, they'll have to bring me things that I've requested from Typo. I'll pay them of course! These are the goods my dad brought home for me on his recent expedition!

The thing I am probably most excited about is the MAIL holder! I just love it! I've had my eye on it for a while and kept telling my sister to buy it for me if she spotted it in the store. So glad she was finally able to get it. I also have a mail cloud from Typo, so both of them together will be such cool beans!

You can't really go wrong with stickers and these are no exception. Major cute!

Also, anything moustache shaped is amazing! The only problem at the moment is I don't have anywhere to push them, Oh man, I really do need my own craft space. I've been having major craft space envy recently.

And finally, some super cool stickers to jazz up some envelopes for all my pals!

Sealed with Love

This is a short post. I just have to share with you my most successful wax seal attempt in forever. The right amount of was, a nice clean stamp and a gorgeous colour too! It's so beautiful that I don't want to send my letter. I will be nice and share the love with someone else who I know will appreciate it!

Filofax Covers

I've had a busy time today making these Filofax covers! I have two A5 sized ones to make and then I'll be all up to date and can start trying out some new things. I tell you, this new sewing machine is such a dream to sew with. There's no way I would have gotten 3 covers done with the old sewing machine. It would have driven me insane. I had such a pleasant time sewing these and I didn't even get stressed when I had to unpick some of it.

I am in love with this print! I liked it when I bought it, but after making the case I LOVE IT! I have a small bit of it left that will be enough to make a pencil case or purse or maybe both. How many pencil cases do I need though!?

Just look at my Filofax trying to get all snug in there! It's not for you! It's for a nice lady on Etsy!

I didn't tell you guys about my business cards that I made the other day. Super simple, just used Word and then sewed some pretty fabric on the back once I'd printed it. They look pretty and they were simple to make if I need to change them. My heart beats for custom made Letterpress business cards but they're a bit pricey so these will do for now!

Packaging is key! I hope that my wonderful customers appreciate packaging. Packaging my orders up is so satisfying and I just love the way it looks at the end of it all!

Once I'm all caught up on my orders, I'm going to try out some new things. I'll keep you all updated. In the mean time, if you want to order one of these, you can check out my Etsy shop- SoJoey. You can also request a different kind of fabric, by sending me a message on there.

Philatelic Stamp Collecting: Yes, it is cool!

If you asked me a few years ago what I thought about stamp collecting, I'd probably tell you that it was a nerdy thing to do. If you ask me now, I'd tell you that it was the coolest thing since sliced bread. It's funny how stereotypical people are about things, even me.

That's all changed now and I think stamps are so awesome. I spend my time looking out for new, different stamps. I've obtained quite a few through post card swaps and letters with my penpals. Recently I spoke to my grandma about it and she showed me her collection of First Day Covers that date all the way back to 1969. I was mesmerised. I had no idea that it could be so cool. What's even better is that they're all addressed to my grandma from my grandpa. Can you get any more romantic? If my future husband (wherever he may be) posted things to me, I'd be putty in his hands.

I thought I would show you guys my current favourite stamps that I've obtained over this year. I'm going to keep collecting and maybe sometime soon, I'm going to start collecting First Day Covers so that I can show my grandchildren and they'll know that I was the coolest person ever in 2014.

So many amazing ones! I'll do another post like this with ones I get in the future! Do you have any awesome stamps to show me? Recently I've seen Disney ones from Japan, I need to get my hands on some of those.
