Filofax Pretties: Covers + MyGreenCow video

These two covers were particular favourites of mine. My planners also wanted to live in these forever! They went to their new homes and I know that one of them reached safely and it's new owner loved it very much. 

Daisy of My Green Cow showed my cover in her most recent video of her Compact Saffiano setup. It's a lovely video! It makes me love my Saffiano so much.

Oliver Jeffers

If you don't know who Oliver Jeffers is, you can watch this video. He's so lovely and such a talented person. He can make such wonderful pieces of art and the best stories ever.


I had the pleasure of going to a talk by him where he read us some stories and drew pictures for us and made us laugh with his general persona. At the end of it all he signed our books and we got to meet him and he was so nice and just very lovely!

BEST HANDWRITING EVER.

All of his story books are amazing and funny. There isn't one that I don't like. Stuck is a very funny one and is guaranteed to have you and all your kiddies laughing a lot!

Last year, I met Ed Vere who is another story book illustrator that I admire and I also realised I've been to talks/workshops by Emma Thompson (Felicity Wishes, Princess Pearl), Martin Brown (Horrible Histories) and David Roberts (The Troll, Dirty Bertie). I've been so lucky. I love all these books and the people who illustrate them too!

Lots of exciting things happened last week! Ben Howard released his new album and it's amazing. I ordered a new backpack which I love. I ordered a mint Kikki.K that I've been lusting over forever! Hopefully that we should be here some time soon, like in the next week or two. The craft day I had with Josie was excellent and I made lots of dashboards and dividers which will be in my shop soon!

Personal Inserts- Nov 2014 - Jan 2015

Hello! I was wondering if you readers of my blog will be up for helping me decide what inserts to make for next year. I've had a few requests to sell these and to make inserts for next year, but I'm not sure what most people are after.

Here are the inserts I have for this year. I love them and this font is a firm favourite of mine. I've also made January ones, because I think these may be what I end up selling on my Etsy.

Recent Filofax Covers- A5's

These two lovelies have probably reached their loving homes now! The Dark Navy Spot stole my heart and I very nearly left my Domino Patent in there! 

I also have so much love for this one! I have a little bit of this fabric left, so I'll be making a couple of pencil cases to put up in the shop. I just need to buy some lining fabric for it. I'm feeling red polka dots maybe!? 

I packaged them up with this pretty cupcake tape! Perfect for keeping orders looking pretty, but also safe!

First First Day Cover

As you may have noticed, I've become a bit obsessed with stamps recently. Since I started to become more interested in them, I spoke to my grandma about it because she said she used to collect them. She showed me her impressive collection of first day covers ranging all the way back to 1961. I was immediately intrigued and also wanted to have a collection like hers. 

I went to the post office and inquired about them and a nice lady gave me a little calender with all the dates of the first releases. So roll on 14th October, a very exciting day for two reasons- Ed Sheeran and the first day release of these UK Prime Minister Stamps. 

A First Day Cover is a purchase of the whole range of released stamps in varying values. They aren't always the same price as sometimes there's a range of different ones. This FDC featured 4 1st class stamps and 4 97p stamps for international mail.

My grandma told me that you can either buy it and take it away with you just like that or you can address it to yourself. If you address it to yourself, it gets franked with inked stamps like the ones above and below, dating them and saying it's the first day of issue. Apparently in the future, franked stamps will be worth way more than ones which haven't been franked.
