Filofax Covers

I've had a busy time today making these Filofax covers! I have two A5 sized ones to make and then I'll be all up to date and can start trying out some new things. I tell you, this new sewing machine is such a dream to sew with. There's no way I would have gotten 3 covers done with the old sewing machine. It would have driven me insane. I had such a pleasant time sewing these and I didn't even get stressed when I had to unpick some of it. 

I am in love with this print! I liked it when I bought it, but after making the case I LOVE IT! I have a small bit of it left that will be enough to make a pencil case or purse or maybe both. How many pencil cases do I need though!?

I didn't tell you guys about my business cards that I made the other day. Super simple, just used Word and then sewed some pretty fabric on the back once I'd printed it. They look pretty and they were simple to make if I need to change them. My heart beats for custom made Letterpress business cards but they're a bit pricey so these will do for now! 

Packaging is key! I hope that my wonderful customers appreciate packaging. Packaging my orders up is so satisfying and I just love the way it looks at the end of it all!

Filofax Pretties: Week 38

I bought a new sewing machine last week because the old one conked in. I have orders to do and it came at a bad time. It's all good now though. My new machine is a bliss to work on, it's quiet and does what it's supposed to. I don't have to fiddle with the bobbin every few stitches. It's also very pretty. I'll do a post about my new machine later this week. 

So this week is a sewing week, I'm aiming to get all of my orders done and maybe a few extras too. I don't know what's in store for this weekend. I might have work but if I don't I think I'd like to have a craft day! You're all invited! 

My list for today seems to be going well, I already have taken the photos for my blog (evidently) and my letter to Mary is almost done!

SoJoey: New Fabric for New Projects!

There are times when I have extreme moments of self doubt and I say to myself:  'I can't do this.' That only happens in the moments of great frustration when I'm unpicking something a million times. Then I think about how far I've come and how my abilities are much improved and that's when I know that I can do these things. I wouldn't be where I am now if I didn't try things and if I didn't make mistakes. I have a dream that my planner covers will be a great success and I can't move forward if I don't take risks.

So the best way to move forward is to keep trying even though it might not work out. At least I will know that I gave it my best shot. I like doing what I'm doing, so I'm going to keep doing it. I don't think that all the crafty people I look upto got to where they are without making a few mistakes.

I have big plans for my sewing and as a result I spent a lot of time buying maybe more fabric than I need at the moment but they're so pretty and I will use them so it's justified!

Aren't they exquisite? I hope to make many new things with my fabric. These will soon be going up on Etsy for planner covers and a few pencil cases so please keep an eye out. Knitting and Stitching Show Haul

On the weekend, the lovely ladies of Trinket Trade and I, went to The Knitting and Stitching Show. You gotta keep tradition going! I must say, the show has changed a lot since the first year. I have to be honest and say that I preferred it in it's first year. There was a bigger emphasis on all sorts of craft, like papercraft, cake making, knitting, crochet and stitching. It went from three floors, to one and there are about 3 papercraft stalls, none of them stocking stuff like the first year. There were so much more bargains to be had! This year the focus was mainly on knitting and stitching, hence the name 'The Knitting and Stitching Show', but it was nice to have the other stalls in previous years. 

I went with a shopping list, the majority of which was focused around scrapbooking and papercraft. Thus, I was a bit disheartened to find that the scrapbooking stall I was hoping for was not there. I can't even remember what it was called from the previous years, but I know I loved it! Someone help me out? 

This year I bought a lot of fabric because the fabric was just too gorgeous to pass up! There were ideas whizzing around my head of what I could make, so at least I was feeling inspired! 

I also signed up to Mollie Makes! It was on a special offer and it's really such a lovely magazine! It will inspire me further!

I can't remember the stall where I got these from, but I really could not resist! I think I bought these after I said "That's it! No more fabric!!"

Sewing: Chiffon Jacket

This is my first ever independent sewing project. I picked an easy pattern because I haven't really done it before. So first things first, I read the instructions and then got to cutting it out! Thankfully this one was only two pieces. Lord bless sleeves that are already in the pattern! 

I got out my pretty tape measure, which I got from House of Alistair.

I could just look at this all day long! The prettiest fabric ever! I was surprised by how cheap it was. So amazing!

All pinned! I shall sew it all together tomorrow. That's going to be the second most tricky part. The first most was cutting chiffon! It just constantly moved around!

Dave Has A Friend

I made a friend for my bunny Dave (Pink one). This new orange edition will be going to one of the little girls I look after, as it's her birthday. Don't you just love it's ears? They are Liberty fabric! Fancy fancy! Dave's ears are just normal material. Dave is so much smaller because I used a smaller crochet hook. I didn't think it would make such a difference!
