Spring Collection Filofax Domino Patent

I'm sure by now, you planner addicts have checked out the new Filofax Spring Collection. If you haven't get to it! There are lots of beauties demanding to be bought! I have had such a debacle in finding the perfect Pocket planner for myself. I came so close many times only to be let down at the last minute.

Originally, I wanted a Zipped Pocket Malden because they are so beautiful and I liked the idea of a zipped planner. They look so nice. Unfortunately my TKMaxx didn't ever have any of these bargains so I missed out big time. Then I looked towards a cheaper alternative and fell in love with pictures of a Zipped Pocket Pennybridge in Raspberry. Then I saw them on SpeedyHen and I was elated with the price, so I ordered one, apparently the last one left in stock. When they went to select it, they found it was damaged so put my order on back order and assured me that I would be sent one when the new stock came in. This didn't happen and then I was told I would get one of the next batch and then that didn't happen either, so I cancelled my order and got a full refund. Then someone was selling a Pocket Aqua Saffiano at a bargain price, so I scooped that up, but it got lost in the mail. I really was having no luck at all! I gave up for a while, but then when I saw that Filofax had released their new range, I went to have a look and saw this beautiful planner that just couldn't be left behind.

Filofax Pretties: Using HEMA for Week 32 + SoJoey Inserts

This morning when I was thinking about decorating my Filofax, I had a thought that I didn't want to use my new things on Filofax pages. I wanted to use them on my pages. I haven't made personal pages for myself so I quickly rustled these up and printed them and then got to work! I really like my own pages so I should probably do some more for the following weeks! The only thing that sways me to do my own pages is the quality of the paper. I can't deal with not being able to use any pen on the Filofax paper. It drives me crazy!

How nice is the washi!? I really like the text one! They're going to make my letters look extra special!

Filofax Pretties: Protecting your Planner

I don't know if like me, you worry about your Filofax like it's a little baby, the fruit of your looms, your most loved possession, but if you are one of those people then you might interested in seeing these. Ever since I bought my beautiful A5 Domino Patent, I've worried about it getting scratched, because it just has that material that is prone to scratches. I've kept it in it's cover, wrapped in a scarf until one day I thought "No more!" and decided to use my meagre sewing skills to construct a case for it.

I practised on my Personal Saffiano and this was the result:

I decided to do boxed corners on this one because it's quite a fat planner all the way through and the boxed corners allowed for more space. Just to prove that I'm not that adept at sewing, you can see that there was some unpicking going on on that corner. I'd originally made the corners massive and it was all baggy so I had to unpick and sew tighter for a better fit. I liked the end result and was quite pleased with myself so I tackled the A5 case, all on the same day!!

This planner is a little different because it tapers at the end opposite the rings so I felt it didn't need a boxed corner, so I just sewed it straight, all the way down. Look at that almost straight line of stitching! Go me!

Overall I'm very happy with my covers because they're protecting my Filos from scratches and that is what I intended for them to do. They're felt lined because I didn't have any wadding, but perhaps future ones will have wadding for even more protection.
